In this episode, Melinda Livsey is back for another deep dive into breaking down her goals as a creative entrepreneur. Other than getting more client work, Melinda’s lost on what the next thing is to do in order for her business to grow. Outside of doing the work itself, what should you be doing?
Everything is realistic and attainable if you’re willing to put in the work. Before you can start to achieve your goals, you have to set them first. Ask yourself these questions: how much revenue do I want to bring in each year? What are some things I can start doing to get there? What is my quarterly goal?
When the work day is done, there’s more you can be doing to meet your goals. Some things you can do to create exposure for yourself and your business include: posting content on LinkedIn and Medium, being more active on sites like Behance, networking on and offline, and making your website easier to find with some SEO. If you want something bad enough, you’ll work for it to make it a reality.
Promote yourself and your work. Share your process in bite-size pieces. Get known so that clients start to come to you, and when they do arrive, they aren’t surprised by who you are and what you have to offer.
