Unless you’re new around here, you’ve heard us say this a few times: the best graphic designers start with type. For those who are unfamiliar with typography, it’s essentially the linchpin that holds all graphic design together.

The basic principles of typography all impact design: scale, contrast, balance, hierarchy, and repetition. Having a good grasp on the fundamentals is a sure-fire way to make sure your designs and layouts always hit the mark.
