Von Glitschka Show Notes

This question deserved a more thoughtful answer so I thought I’d share my show prep and note-taking for you guys to check out and maybe pick up some new tactics for both.

Before every event or meeting, I research and prepare questions beforehand. Even though I have many questions, I often just try to listen and follow the conversation in an organic manner. Naturally, the conversation leads me to other questions.

In this example, I’m sharing my notes from a conversation with Von Glitschka. Von is an illustrative designer, author, and founder of GLITSCHKA STUDIOS. Von has a long list of clients comprised of some of the most well-known brands, including Adobe, McDonald’s, Planters, and Capri Sun. He collaborates with ad agencies, design firms, in-house corporate art departments, and small businesses to produce compelling visual narratives.

On top of his Studio work, Von offers one-on-one sessions teaching vector art, creative consultations, workshops, and more.

I had the awesome chance to interview Von to learn about his journey into illustrative design and how he’s established his unique creative process. Given the fact that my interview subject was going to have some pretty juicy responses, a proper note-taking process was in order for me to get the most out of our conversation.

Below, you will find some of the answers I got, and get a first-hand look into my thought process. If you have an important interview coming up, or don’t know what questions to ask for your next one, I hope this helps.
