Heads or Tails?

Should you start with an explosive, attention grabbing headline or focus on key insights? Sometimes it's better to lead with the sizzle (heads) and sometimes it's better to focus on the valuable take-aways (tails). Use both techniques to avoid creator's block. Learn how to write and edit carousels so that they flow effortlessly from one slide to the next, and find the balance of "light yet satisfying" content.

Upcycling

Take the guesswork out of what to post. Test ideas early and often to find what sticks (something visual, emotional and story based). When you test ideas in public, others will voluntarily contribute and make your content better.

Fine-tune your written and visual content through discussions, exercises, and critiques on both copywriting and design.

Design and layout

Get a crash course on the fundamentals of design and layout in a design sprint exercise. You’ll quickly pick up the skills to create visually interesting content and give your Instagram feed a facelift. You'll learn about font pairings, color harmonies, and how to use images in combination with your copy to captivate your audience.

Use whatever tools you're most comfortable with. Chris will be demonstrating his process with Adobe CC and Keynote, but the concepts are universally applicable.
