Book of the week

Mismatch: How Inclusion Shapes Design by Kat Holmes - Not all computer mouses are created equal. (At least, for left-handed people.) In Mismatch, Holmes describes how design can lead to exclusion, and how design can also remedy exclusion. The book exploreshow inclusion can be a source of innovation and growth, especially for digital technologies.

You may know Pablo Stanley as the quirky guy in that Webflow ad. But what you might not know, is that Pablo's just released Blush, a plugin that provides illustrations for everyone. You can create, customize, and even submit illustrations for personal or commercial use. OH, and it's free!

What to watch

• The tiny house movement is still alive and well. And the popular YouTube channel, NEVER TOO SMALL, will not only show you how to design the smallest of spaces with the biggest imagination, but also might convince you to downsize.
• It's safe to say we've accumulated a lot of things throughout our lives. But do we ever think how these things are made? And what impact our things have on our lives? Objectified (2017) shows us our complex relationship with manufactured objects and the people who design them. Add this feature-length documentary to your weekend watchlist, and prepare to look at your toothbrush through a whole new set of eyes.
• Ai Weiwei is one trailblazer of an artist. As an outspoken activist, Ai blurs the lines between art and politics. Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry (2012) documents the internationally-renowned artist's journey to open a series of museum exhibitions as he clashes with the Chinese government.
