Why You Cannot Diagnose Your Own Problems

Muir is asking this questionhas got seven upvotes.Many entrepreneurs can'tdiagnose their own businessproblems.It's true.Do you share thesame difficulty?What's the best way to overcomethis masterminds a coach?And I think it's true.Now I'm going toreference somethingthat Melinda saidto me because I justlike the analogy quite a bit.Melinda lives whoyou've seen on the show,and it's also partof the program.Melinda said it sometimesit's really hardto read the label insidethe jar, isn't it?I like that there's a strongvisual with that you'reinside the jar,literally in a sense,and you're trying tolike, I can't read,what's the ingredients?I can't see that,and that's why.We all could use somebodyto help see our blind spotsand point them out to us.Now this person doesn't haveto be a trained professional.They don't have to be acoach or a psychotherapist,although I do recommend it.It could just beyour life partner.Like my wife, my wife says allkinds of crazy stuff to me,and I don't like it.But it's definitely pointingout a problem that I know.But for whatever reason, Iburied in my subconscious,so I don't wantto think about it.She does it to me all the time.It's like a lover for it, andit's also annoying as hell,I'm going to just tellyou because we don't wantto be called out on thefloors of our thinkingor to be asked to do somethingthat we know we need to do,but we're afraid to do it.Really difficult. And I'll giveyou the example, sometimes ashas happened in thepast with our company,I've had to let people go.I had to lay peopleoff for no other reasonthat we couldn'tafford to keep them.But there was apart inside of methat just couldn't bear tothink about letting people go.I would sooner rather gobankrupt than to let people go.And then one of thoseinstances, my wifesaid, so you're unwilling.She didn't sayexactly like this,but it's kind of how I heard it.You're unwillingto let three peoplego to save the jobsof seven people.That's the kind ofCaptain you want to be.Because I don't have thecourage, unfortunately,to sacrifice threepeople to save the rest.And each and every time oneof those difficult momentscomes up in my life,I just remember that.You guys have seen that movie,you seven, five one submarinemovie, right?Young captain, newcaptain talkingabout trying to save everybody,old captains like, youknow what?You got lots of peoplein there because wehave a ruptured hole.We will all die.It's like, no, let'ssave everybody.And so those are all thedecisions that we have to make.That's why not everybodygets to be Captainbecause not everybody wantsto make those decisions.So if you fancy yourselfas an entrepreneur,as a business owner, thoseare the tough, tough callsyou have to make and youhave to pay that price.So we all can't seeinside the bubblenow if we practiceone of the thingsthat we talked about, I thinkon a previous call about beingmore mindful but raisingour level of self awarenessabout separatingourselves from ourselvesand thinking about thethings we think about.And we are able to lookat ourselves objectivelythrough whatever formof meditation that youwant to go through.Then you could beyour own consultant.But otherwise, it'squite difficult to do.
