There are people thatare really angry at me,like, I can't watch this, whata fricking self-important,arrogant a-holethinking this is howyou should do your questions.I'm like, OK, youcould do it that way.I'm going to do it my way.But here's the really cool part.It made me write down andresearch how to ask questionsand why I feel what I feel.And you've heard me say this inthe after hours conversation.To think to be acritical thinkermeans you have to run therisk of offending peoplebecause the differencesbetween the waythat we think allow me toclarify my own thoughts.So all the negative feedback.And there was quite a bitof it, and I'm cool with it.I'm swimming in it, right?like it's all good to me,because I eat thatnegative feedback up.It makes me think,is my position good?Should I change my position?And so what it produced weretweets and graphics and thingsthat helped me to growmy Twitter following,like by 300 in the last week.It's been pretty awesome.And the story that Itold for many of youguys that couldn'tlisten to threehours worth of livestreaming is thisis if I were to tell you astory or ask you to read a storyand then ask you somequestions and scoreyou on your ability to answerthe questions correctlyat the end.You'd be a little stressed out.So then you're goingto listen to my storyin ways that are goingto exhaust your brain.Or you read very slowlymaking sure you pick upall the details becauseonce the story is done,you can't refer to it again.Then I'm going toask you the five quizquestions to test yourretention or your comprehension.Now that would suck.And that's how we've beentrained to do tests, right?What if you could fastforward read the two or threequestions or fivequestions firstand then listen to the storyor then read the literature?Well, now you can skim for theanswers and you can tune inand you could movethrough it pretty quickly,and your abilityto get the answerscorrectly are going togo through the roof.So how does this relate toeverything, so every timesomebody on the show that'sunfamiliar with how we do thisand they should befamiliar at this point,they want to tellme the long story.So what I have to do isI have to pay attentionto every single thingthat they're saying.Because I don't knowwhat the question is.And sometimes they don't evenknow what the question is.And next time yourclients and youhave a call, a new clientor a facilitated sessionand they start to dothe old brain dumpand they do this all the time.And the reason why theydo the brain dump is theydon't know how tocontain their thoughts.They're afraid they'regoing to forgetsome really important detail.So they give you too much.And you, even ifyou're really smart,you can't take notes that fast.You can't comprehendand absorb all that.You don't know what's important.You can't separate thewheat from the chaff.You just can't.So this is where you have toput your hands up and kindof surrender andsay, you know what,I'm pretty sure a lot ofthat's really important,but I'm having a hard timefocusing in on what is and whatisn't.And my fear is we'llend in this conversationand we'll both be confused.So if you don't mind,will you give mepermission to take controlof the conversationbecause I want to askyou a few questions.And the thing I'mlooking for is whatis a big problemwe're trying to solve.Because I want tohelp you with that.Now, I've given theperson's brain my client,and she's going to say, oh,OK, let me edit all the garbageand tell you what the bigproblem is as far as I know.And we also talk aboutdoctors, right, we'realways trying to bemore professionaland doctors are a goodanalogy to map onto.You don't go to see the doctorand tell him all your problemsand all your life story.In fact, in order toget an appointment,you have to tell theperson taking the call.What you're seeing the doctorfor, I tripped and felland my anklesblown up right now.So I have a lot of pain.I have severe pain in my ankle.So even there, you'reforced to identifywhat the problem or thequestion is going to be.It's only on theseshows or when you'retalking to clients thatare very unstructuredand how they speak, thatthey just go blah blah blahand they go on forever.So guys, I'm going to encourageyou to do it in your own wayto politely ask to takecontrol of the conversationin the benefit, with themind, with the intentionof benefiting both parties tominimize the time in which wespeak, to maximize the amountof clarity that we can achieve.That's what I'm doing.So some people get itand some people don't.But they hold mesays, is my show.I get to do it my way, sothat's the way it's going to be.Now, facts somebody somebodya super crazy fan wrote to meand said, I would like towrite the script for youand explain to peoplehow to ask questions.Why asking questionsare important.I'm like, love it.You write it.If it's good.I'll perform it.I'll be your monkey.
