Anthony banks said
to everyone, Rachel,
I've never heard of a successful
local licensing agreement, only
horror stories from clients.
I have I know people who have
licensed their logo before,
and then I get the
best deal ever.
I wish I could do that every
single time with my clients.
So nothing is possible
until it is possible.
We all know that,
right, we all believe
you can't run a mile under
four minutes and somebody dies
and then everybody does it.
I know somebody
twin designers who
they were designing something
for a broadcast network
and they were kind of
choking on the budget.
That will license
the logo to you.
Fine, it's great, fantastic.
Let's do that, and they've
been paying for it ever
since, it's been fantastic.
Think about that.
So the next time a client
pushes back on logo, just say,
you know what, I understand.
And price, is this, but
let's get really creative.
What if we.
That licensing deal.
So I know you can't afford
to pay me the $10000,
but you can afford to pay to.
Why don't we do a
licensing deal every year
you use it, you pay me to.
And you work out the terms for
these uses and your own IP,
you own the logo,
and the funny thing
is the longer they
use it, the more it's
going to be valuable to them.
Think about that, so
get really creative.
Use your creativity
for more things
than just making visuals, right?
Use your creativity
to negotiate a deal.
Right?
Oh Yeah.
You know, let's try this.
What if you gave me 2008
$1,000 worth of product
because the only cost
you 25% of that anyways?
Fantastic you get
$8,000 worth of cameras.
You get $8,000
worth of whatever.
And even if you can't use it,
you can gift it to somebody.
But at least you're not
accepting it for the two
that they're willing to pay you.
